explora + wine Program

Chile features some of the most beautiful countrysides anywhere in the World and some really great wines. Through a new partnership cooperation with our sister company CV Family Estates, explora is pleased to offer its travelers an exclusive wine program at Casa Porta Estate.

The program has been envisioned to allow travelers to discover the beauty embodied in the traditional country life at the quaint Casa Porta, located in the Alto Cachapoal Valley, just 48 miles south of Santiago. Immerse yourself in the heart of this picturesque and renowned wine region, and sample local wines and meals.

Programs

One day program includes transfer to and from airport to Casa Porta, accommodation, open bar, tour of Casa Porta winery and wine tasting.

Two day program includes transfer to and from airport to Casa Porta, accommodation, open bar, tour of Casa Porta winery, wine tasting, tour and lunch in Viña Gracia and tour to nearby vineyard.

Casa Porta programs are managed by CV Family Estates and not by explora.

Casa Porta Estate

Less than an hour from Santiago, immersed in the beauty of Alto Cachapoal Valley, this private and secluded colonial-style house built in 1875 features a large interior patio with 4 Chilean palm trees that add a sense of symmetry to the architecture. It has six exclusively-furnished guest rooms, a living room with audio-visual equipment, a dining room, meeting room, chapel, kitchen and sophisticated enological facilities, such as an underground cellar, barrel room, wine bar and tasting room.

The excellence of Casa Porta´s wines reflects the company’s philosophy of “a valley for every wine.” Winemakers Jessica Tomei, from the United States, and Ana Salomo, from Chile, work to maintain tradition while employing the latest technology to make uniquely aromatic and flavorful wines.

We have the following preferential rates for explora travelers:
US$ 120.- per person, per night in double occupancy room.
US$ 150.- per person, per night in single occupancy room.

The regular rates for the same programs are approximately US$ 230 - per person, per night. Only 1 or 2 nights programs are offered, 3 or more nights programs are not offered.

2. What are the special benefits for explora travelers?

This program is exclusive for explora Travelers when visiting one of our destinations.

2.1 “explora passport 3 destinations”
When booking at least 3 explora properties, you will receive a 2 nights stay complimentary in Casa Porta.

2.2 “explora passport 2 destinations”
When booking 2 different explora properties, you will receive 1 night stay complimentary in Casa Porta. If extending the stay one night, it will apply the preferential prices for explora travelers.

2.3 “explora 1 destination”
When booking 1 of the explora properties, it will apply the preferential prices for explora travelers. If extending the stay one night, it will apply the preferential prices for explora travelers.

2.4 “Club Exploradores del Sur de America traveler”
If you have already stayed at explora in the past, and you have chosen to return to one of our properties, then you are one of our CESA travelers, and for this reason you will receive 1 night stay complimentary in Casa Porta. If extending the stay one night, it will apply the preferential prices for explora travelers.

4. How are the transfers coordinated?


The transfers will operate by van between Santiago’s Airport and Casa Porta with a Spanish speaker driver, no guide and a maximum occupancy of 6 travelers. The transportation takes around an hour and the distance is 80 kms / 50 miles. Transportation services are coordinated by Casa Porta. Should you require a bilingual guide for the transfer, please let us know.

 

5. Which are the check in and check out schedules?

Check in - 15:00 pm
Check out - 12:00 noon

6. What is included in the menu in Casa Porta?

A buffet breakfast is offered. For lunch and dinner there are included 2 different options for starter and main course and 6 different options for dessert, as well as a variety of salads.
In case you have any special diet or allergies, we are able to offer special options according to your needs. If that is the case, please consider that we need to be previously informed.

In Viña Gracia (when choosing the 2 nights program) lunch will be served in 3 different times and will include a variety of white and red meats, accompaniments and desserts.

7. There is a chance to buy wines in Casa Porta and the different vineyards visited?. There are special prices for explora travelers?

Yes, wines can be bought in Casa Porta and the other Vineyards. Casa Porta will offer special prices for our travelers.

8. How many rooms do you have in Casa Porta?

Casa Porta has 3 double rooms, 1 family room with a maximum occupancy of 4 travelers and a Matrimonial Suite. All of them with private bathroom and for double or single occupancy.

9. Is it possible to extend the stay?

Yes, but always in regards to availability. The difference in the cost has to be paid directly in Casa Porta.

10. What are the services and facilities in Casa Porta?

Casa Porta has 6 rooms. Each one has direct line telephone, WiFi access at the public areas and 1 computer available for travelers.
The house also has a living room with cable tv. There is also an out door hot tub with view to the vineyards.

11. Not available services:

There is no room service, no laundry service or massages.
